The discernment process is very much like a journey. One upon which you sense you are being called to embark but where perhaps the destination and even the route to get there are not quite so clear.

Whilst the unfolding of the what, where, when, how and why of that journey can be a very exciting and joyous experience, it can also be a rather daunting one. That is especially so when embarking on the official Church of England selection process; by necessity it is quite long, but it can also feel arduous and lonely at times.

The Young Vocations Team (see below) is available to help you navigate your journey. They are available to meet with one to one. But perhaps more importantly they also organise meetings of fellow travellers in your area; people who are going through exactly the same things as you may experience in the discernment process. Some people will be way ahead of you and others perhaps just setting out on the journey and as unsure as you, but all will have wisdom from which you can all learn.

'The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, “Samuel! Samuel!” Then Samuel said, “Speak, for your servant is listening.’

1 Samuel 3:10

To get some support in your journey please email the member of the team who is nearest to you geographically to arrange a chat or find out when their next meeting is. If you are not sure who that is then email Andy and he can point you in the right direction.
